The plate is on the wall

I've been searching high and low for a collection of sort of modern, but traditional and all white vintage plates to hang on wither side of my Anewall art.  I wanted something with a round shape to play off all the square angles in my dining room.

I think plates are sort of all the rage right now to make a big impact on a small budget.  Its kind of a gallery wall without all the work and price, no?  Vintage, new, colorful, neutral it fits all types of design.

I'm huge fan of all white dishes and towels- I learned that trick years ago on Oprah...when they get dingy, toss them and replace and you never have to worry about matching the color.  Brills.

Plates also work great in other areas of design like amping up the presence of this headboard.

 Or filling an otherwise empty modern wall into an organic piece of art.

I had to do a double take on this one, is it a print canvas? or cut plates?  Super cool, and how in the world did they cut that so straight and clean?  

 BeesKnees tells a story by combining  plate art with word art and LOVE the old book print wall treatment!

Of course you aren't limited to china, these silver pieces are pretty stunning and will patina to take of a warmer glow.

And lastly, how great are these paper plates as a party decoration?!!? In lieu of inconvenient balloons and super festive!

Pinterest has all kinds of inspirations on how to hang them too!  You are no longer a stuck with the wire plate holder with the prongs in view.  You can hot glue a paper clip or safety pin to the back and easily attach to a nail or this nifty rings on the back from our friends across the pond, who know all about hanging plates on the wall.

World Market is smoking hot

I joined the "World Market Explorer" so I get daily emails and coupons and earn bucks back (a must if you frequent).  There are so many cool things that I can't get enough of as of late.

Well for starters, we started to Finish Start our empty dining room and I loaded up on the Arcadia table and Paige chairs, and its quickly becoming one of my fave rooms in our house.

I'm also digging this ensemble for an eat-in kitchen area.  Casual enough that it will get better with age and you don't have to worry about dings etc.  A great homework table too!

This metal cabinet is awesome!  Its pretty tall, so its got some good presence and it looks authentic vintage..like straight out of an old timey Drugstore or something.  I love the idea of it in a TV Room, Boys Room or even a kitchen if you have the room.  And bonus-its got a child proof lock :)

This Console is also on my want need list.  The proportions are great for a tight space (pretty long and very slim depth), and the finish is pretty spot on with the whole Danish movement. AKA RH knockoff  I love the idea of this as a buffet in a dining room.

I think these metal dressers would be amaze as a pair of nightstands.  Such cool detail!

You know how I feel about mass-produced artwork, that everyone has (I'm talking about you, Keep Calmers), so I don't typically ever browse their wall art, but the mirror selection is pretty great.  This little hanging mirror has such an original vibe to it. So cute in over a dresser.

Anewall Obssessd

I've literally been obsessed with this new company since I heard about it via Bijou & Boheme and sorta surprised I haven't shared until now.  I'm always on the hunt for some one of a kind art- and sometimes that can mean epic proportions or a wall covering.  In my opinion, big art is always a good.

I can't get enough, every piece is worth a study--which is what art truly means rights? Anewall has that small company/quality vibe and their selection of art is showstopping, plus they do custom...need I say more.

This photography of Mary Eaton slays me.  She is positively glowing and oozing femininity.  And that steals the show in this set(... decor is pretty rocking)  This print is on a over sized canvas that is casually leaning against the wall, so hippie chic.

The Man and the Lion is a Norman Rockwall illustration for a short story.  Anyone who is a fan of Norman knows all his art tells a story

How great is this Evening in Italy, it gives a great eclectic vibe to this casual living space

I just adore this wall paper mural in a nursery, just a great visual.  And the set design is pretty spot on for the install shots.

This is probably my favorite, look at the folds of her dress.  This would be gorg in a formal dining room.

OK this is also my fave- Who doesn't love Marie? This would be fab in a dressing room or master bathroom.

And something about a Ballroom party sketch is very intriguing.  Adorable in a little girls room.

Who doesn't love a good stationary/card set?  I don't know about you, but I have stock piled cards on the off chance I have a visitor at my house and I forgot to get them a gift (come on, everyone has that thought right?).  So when I across this goodness from the great KW from Paperless Post, I did a little happy dance.  So chic for a thank you note right?  And those invites are To. Die. For.
